Special Event for Refugee Children Feb. 17
The Refugee Partners ministry will host a “Fun Day” for refugee children from Aurora on Monday, February 17 at West Campus. The goal is to introduce the FBCG family to our neighbors from around the world and have fun together.
Children in attendance will be school-aged, and FBCG families with similar aged children are invited to join in the activities. In addition, volunteers of all ages from the church are invited to help with contests, food, sports, and crafts.
The event will feature a Bible lesson on Moses and the Exodus from Egypt (a refugee story in itself). A pizza lunch will be provided for all. Sweet treats and fruit donated by those attending will also be available.
A girl scout troop has collected books and will be hosting a reading room that allows the refugee children to take home a book at the end of the day. A group of FBCG high school students who were impacted by the recent Trek retreat will also be volunteering.
