Club 56 is a weekly ministry for 5th and 6th grade students hoping to grow in love for Jesus Christ through monthly service opportunities, times of teaching, and just plain fun. On Wednesday nights our ministry doors open at 6:15 p.m. and Club 56 runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Student Center at East Campus during the school year. Over 100 students gather together each week for a ministry that makes service its priority!
Service Opportunities- Every second week of the month we have Service nights where our students are exposed to a myriad of service opportunities from preparing meals for a local homeless shelter, to preparing meals for children on different continents. Service nights provide students a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the joy of serving others. It is our hope that these service nights will help to create a lifetime habit of service to others.
Times of Teaching- Twice a month we have Club nights that are centered around a time of teaching and a small group experience. During Club, students will enjoy some awesome games and activities before being exposed to dynamic teaching about this year’s theme: “Essentials.” After the teaching, students break into small groups to discuss the teaching while building deep and lasting relationships with their peers.
Theme - How do I know if I am a Christian? What does God want me to do? These are questions that we all want answered, and they are not new questions! A young man once asked Jesus “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17). Similarly, the religious leaders asked Jesus, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” (Matthew 22:36). Come join us this fall as we answer some of these questions, by studying the Essentials of the Christian Life.
Plain Fun- Once a month we have Outreach nights where we encourage our students to invite their friends out to get a fun introduction to Club 56. Past Outreach Nights have included everything from a hay ride, to bowling, to moonwalks and soccer here at the Church.
