Leadership Institute

FBCG is launching a new Leadership Institute this summer for college students and college graduates, and we want you to know about this great opportunity! The institute is designed to elevate the internships offered by FBCG in the past to a more dynamic program for students that not only provides real world work experience in church-based ministry, but also provides essential leadership and discipleship training.

 

Who may apply?

The program is for college students and college graduates sensing a leading into church-based ministry, and will feature opportunities to serve in such areas as children and youth ministry, missions, worship arts, and communications.

We will accept a total of eight students for this summer’s program. An online application form is available on our church website at fbcg.com/leadershipinstitute. Applications will be accepted through April 11th.

 

About the Institute

Students who are chosen for the FBCG’s Leadership Institute will:

  • - Intern on one of our many ministry teams
  • - Be mentored by an FBCG ministry team staff member
  • - Participate in corporate worship and prayer gatherings
  • - Attend weekly Leadership Institute classes designed to lead students into:
    • A passionate love for the Word of God
    • A clear and intimate understanding of the Gospel life
    • A vibrant prayer life
    • An understanding of the principles of spiritual leadership and how to apply the Word of God in ministry contexts
    • A greater understanding of their Christian calling and career path

 

What are the dates?

The program will begin on May 27 and conclude on August 10.

 

Will students be paid?

Yes, participants will be paid $1,500 for the summer session.

 

What are the different ministry team opportunities?

High School ministry interns will gain a well-rounded perspective on how to lead a healthy high school ministry. Interns will also benefit from experience in leading a bible study, planning and preparing for summer events as well as serving on Sunday mornings. All of these opportunities will open the door to build relationships and disciple high school students.

Middle School ministry interns will have an exciting summer full of teaching opportunities, summer outings, an Adventure Trip and our annual Summer Impact week. Throughout the summer our interns will learn how to lead students into a greater understanding of Gospel truths and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

Children’s ministry interns will develop a working knowledge of how to run a VBS program as well as how to lead other aspects of a comprehensive children’s ministry. Interns will gain experience writing and executing Sunday school lessons as well as preparing for the upcoming ministry year.

Communication interns will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of internal and external church-based communications activities, including: video, web, social media, email and print information and other promotions.

Our worship ministry offers worship arts interns a unique opportunity to learn and grow in their worship planning and worship leading skills in the many different worship venues FBCG has to offer.

Missions interns will have the opportunity to serve with many of FBCG’s local and global ministry partners. Serving opportunities include urban, refugee and homeless ministries. Interns will gain experience in planning summer serving events, researching and writing mission curriculum.and speaking to our missionary families about their work in spreading the Gospel around the world.
