For mothers of young children
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Welcome to Moms Together, a program created to affirm and encourage mothers of infants through elementary-age children. Our morning together includes breakfast, time for conversation, informative speaker presentations and discussion groups.
At Moms Together, women can relax, laugh and build friendships. Moms also receive helpful insights that can encourage them to grow as women, wives, and mothers.

From ME to WE: Breaking the Cycle of Entitlement in our Kids
If kids today seem entitled, it’s probably because we parents had a hand in it. Cheryl Pacilio is a self-confessed Mom-aholic who admits to raising her kids too often on the side of comfy instead of competent. We try so hard to make our kids happy we sometimes forget to teach them how to find joy in their work and worth without a cheering section or personal banker. Engage the issue of how we may have spoiled perfectly good kids and better still how it’s not too late to take a new path. Learn some practical ways to parcel out chores, link rewards with effort and give your kids a bigger view of their place in the world of work and worth. Cheryl Pacilio is the mother of four children – 1 married, 1 on her own in the big city, 1 in college and 1 in high school – and the 30 year wife to Mike. She considers these to be her most vital statistics but also holds a degree in Deaf Education, has been an educator in a variety of settings for various ages including currently as a Women’s Bible Study teacher at FBCG. She has been an enthusiastic writer, speaker and staff leader for Hearts at Home since 2001. Cheryl is the Director of Local Service at FBCG, a position that expands her desire to serve our neighbor as Jesus did and spurring the church to do likewise.
Dates & Times: Two identical programs are offered each month from October through May. Moms attend one time per month and chose which group (A or C) they will attend for the year. Group A is the first Thursday of the month except January and April. Group C is the third Thursday of the month except December, January and April. The program runs from 9:15 A.M. - 11:15 A.M.
Kids Together: While mothers are enjoying their morning, their young children will also be enjoying a quality, age-appropriate program. Bible stories, games, crafts and snacks are highlights. Kids Together is available for children kindergarten and younger. Childcare rooms open at 9:00 A.M.
*Our childcare programs utilize an electronic check-in system that insures the security of the children in our care. Pre-registering your child will allow the process to go quickly. Each parent checks their children into the computer system and receives a one-time security badge. This security ID number is specific to your family and only good for the current program morning. Parents will need to present this ID number to the childcare workers in order to check children out at the end of the morning. All of our childcare workers are fully trained in childcare procedures and background checked.
Cost: $6 for Mom only, $8 for Mom and one child, and $10 for Mom with two or more children – all fees are payable at the door.
Location: All programs will be held at First Baptist Church of Geneva’s West Campus – 3435 Keslinger Road, Geneva (the northeast corner of Peck and Keslinger).
